Price Equality for Women

For decades, the fashion industry has nurtured a pricing model that consistently charges more for women's clothing than their men's equivalents.  We think that's wrong.

All our T-Shirts are made from the same high-quality ring-spun cotton, and yet our suppliers charge us more for women's. We choose not to pass that cost along to our customers. We make less profit on our Women's Tees as a result, but we think it's the right thing to do.

Women's Clothing Cost Comparison

Excerpted from a New York study of price biases across multiple industries: From Cradle to Cane: The Cost of Being a Female Consumer

We ask the fashion industry a simple question: Why? Industry insiders will tell you -- because they can.  Their research has shown that women are willing to pay more than their male counterparts.  This is, of course, a situation that the industry has itself nurtured aggressively with intense advertising and messaging to inflate demand.

At Hashgear, we don't think that's a good reason.  We believe that women deserve equal treatment in all aspects of society -- not just in the workplace, relationships, and politics, but in the shopping cart as well.
